The Single Line Text option in the Sellio Product Options App allows merchants to collect short, single-line inputs from customers directly on the product page. This option is ideal for personalization fields such as names, initials, or short custom messages.
It is one of the most commonly used input types for Shopify product customization.
How to Create a Single Line Text Option
Navigate to:
App Dashboard → Create Option → Select “Single Line Text”
Once selected, you will see multiple configuration fields to customize the behavior and appearance of this option.
Field Settings Explained
Display Name
This is the label shown to customers on the product page.
Example:
Enter Name
Add Your Initials
Custom Text
Unique Name
A system identifier used internally to distinguish this option.
Must be unique
Not visible to customers
Useful for integrations and backend tracking
Tooltip
Displays a hover message to provide additional guidance.
Example:
Enter the name exactly as you want it printed.
Help Text
Appears below the input field to guide customers.
Example:
Maximum 20 characters allowed.
Option Type
This is automatically set as Single Line Text and cannot be changed after creation.

When enabled:
The charge is applied only once per product
Even if the product quantity is more than 1
Example
Product quantity: 3
Personalization charge: ₹50
Total charge applied: ₹50 (not ₹150)
Placeholder
This text appears inside the input box as a hint.

Character Limit
You can define a maximum number of characters allowed.
Example:
Max 20 characters for engraving
This helps prevent input errors and ensures proper formatting.
Pricing Configuration (Option Values)
The Single Line Text option supports multiple pricing types:
1. Fixed Price Add-on
Adds a fixed amount to the product.
Example: +₹50
2. Multiplication-Based Charge
Price is calculated dynamically.
Example:
Price × 0.5
If product price = ₹1000 → Charge = ₹500
3. Charge Per Character
Cost increases based on number of characters entered.
Example:
₹2 per character
10 characters → ₹20
4. Percentage-Based Charge
Charge is calculated as a percentage of product price.
5. Shopify Variant-Based Pricing
Option pricing can be linked to existing Shopify variant pricing.

Customer Experience
Customers enter their name once, and the personalization charge is applied only once regardless of quantity.
